10 MINS LATER
THE NEXT DAY
The car then took a holiday in Birmingham and came back looking very good (Thank you Matt and Ivan). It is now sporting a new front end. New nose, scuttle and bonnet plus a few other improvements which should make it much easier to race. The front looked so good that I thought I had better spruce the rest of it up and on Saturday the paint stripping began ready for its fresh new look!
16.8.08 READY FOR REPAINTING
Now all I need to do is paint the inside and roll cage, redo the brake lines, put new battery in, couple up the cooling system, rewire it, put the panels back on, engine is back in but the starter motor etc all need to go back on and a few more touches like bonnet springs, knocking the back panel back out and adding wings and I'll be all set. I'm really enjoying it and hope its going to come back out a much improved version, looking new!
Well its official - I hate hammerite! After all my careful prep work the paint hasn't gone on well :-( luckily the rest of the car is coming together nicely and I now have brake lines and colling system back in. Here's a quick snap shot.
