The 2006 Season

When the 2006 Season Started this is what I had to say: "These pages are where you'll find out my latest results and race reports. Follow my season as I take you on a guided tour of what happens when with limited racing experience and no mechanical abilities you decide to join one of the friendliest and most competitive National Racing Championships around! I'm sure there will be lots of highs and probably a few lows along the way. But having bought a great car, a Haynes manual and embarked on a car maintenance course I also think it's going to be a lot of fun!"

And the verdict after...

"Wow, what a first season. It started in the snow at Mallory with my first ever race. Twenty two races later I've learnt a huge amount and made a lot of new friends.

Hopefully you'll find my race reports interesting, they've charted my progress from that first snowy race, to what's become one of my favourite circuits; Brands Hatch. Then it was a baptism of fire quite literally at Snetterton, followed by my first wet race of the year at Cadwell. Closely followed by Thruxton before a very successful return to Brands and my first ever spin (in qualifying). Then it was all the fun of Lydden and Silverstone before the final race of the year at Donington. A race that'll make me smile for a while. (I overtook 30 people in 4 races!)

In the end I finished 3rd in the Newcomers Championship and 26th out of 65 in the Main Championship. I was one of only 3 drivers to race at every circuit and finish every race in the points :-) Most importantly though I loved every second of it.

Now in the off season I've kept my self occupied with a guest drive in the Formula Woman Silverstone Challenge and the amazing race that is the Birkett.
